3 Ways to Ditch Your New Year’s Resolutions and Make a Permanent Lifestyle Change!

It’s almost the end of March, and like most people you either stuck to your New Year’s Resolution or you didn’t. In fact, many reports state that nearly 90% of people fail to reach their New Year’s goals! Wow! That’s a shocking number. There can be a wide variety of reasons why people ditch their new habits for their old ones. It can range from not having a plan to not having discipline.

I am happy to report that I sustained from eating processed sugar, including alcohol for 30 days! I feel much healthier, and more energetic than ever after doing so. However, I must admit after the 30 days I fell off the wagon a bit. I usually eat clean and have relatively low body fat--- so when I decided to go back to some “old habits”, my immune system went out of whack, it left me sneezing and with cold hands and feet. The good news is I got back on track with my “lifestyle” goals I set in January and now back to optimum health.

The truth is, you really don’t need a New Year’s Resolution for optimal health. You know your body like no one else does. When you listen to your body, it will guide you to make the right choices for it.

It’s my birthday month, and I am happy to be sexy at 60! I credit my active lifestyle and vegan diet to my optimal health. Not only is it my birthday month, it’s also March Madness and I get “madness” to get back on track to shake it up to the best health I’ve ever had!

So, if you want to be sexy at 60 and achieve optimal health, the truth is you must ditch your New Year’s Resolutions and make lifestyle changes that you incorporate into your daily life. Here are some tips on how to do exactly that:

Master your mindset—Your mind is one of the most powerful things you have in your body. You must first believe you can achieve anything in your mind, before it becomes a physical reality. Visualize the outcome you want to achieve—whether they be losing weight, quitting smoking, giving up sugar, or something else. Make sure you see yourself as the healthy, fit person you always wanted to be. Once you activate your mind to see the “best you” ever, you will start acting to obtain optimal health.

Take action-- Yes, visualization is great, but it means nothing without action. That’s where you come in, you must take steps forward to achieving the health that you want. This may mean signing up for a gym membership, buying and eating only organic foods and vegetables, ditching sugar and other processed foods.

Understanding—What do I mean by understanding? You must understand that your new lifestyle is not a trend or a goal with an end date; it’s an actual lifestyle change that you must follow no matter what else is going on in your life. Of course, you are human, so sometimes you may fall off track. However, you must get right back on track! Once you realize you are doing your body more harm than good, it will be easy to shape up ad follow your lifestyle change.

You too can be sexy at 60 or any age for that matter. Yes… sexy at 60 is my mantra! Life has never been so good! What makes your feel “Madness “in March? Let me know what I can share with you on my journey! Leave a comment in the box below!
